It means developing Physical Literacy; which is concurrent with the Long Term Athletic Development Model, fewer injuries, improved sport performance and the tools to lead an active healthy lifestyle. Most notably in the basketball community is FLIGHT SCHOOL and our approach to reduce tendinopathies and musculoskeletal injuries that are rampant in basketball. There is no program like FITS Athletic Development
FITS has conducted research with over 3,000 athletes and has published university affiliated research on how movement effects injury risk and performance. This on-going pursuit of excellence is demonstrated in FITS ongoing research and continual evolution of its program which are based on scientific evidence with consultation from leading experts from around the world in the fields of motor acquisition, strength and conditioning, and sports medicine.
After four years of business FITS has been instrumental in the development of dozens of NCAA Div 1 Scholarships, while working with Olympic, professional, national team and grass root athletes across many sports, but focusing on Basketball, Alpine, Volleyball and Hockey athletes – visit www.fitstoronto.com to see some of the athletes that FITS has worked with.
This new initiative marks the beginning of complete basketball development. The aim of this partnership is to build an institute of Sport Science encompassing all knowledge based practices to help build better athletes.
